Calsol Process Oils

Produced at our Princeton, Louisiana Refinery:

Calsol process oils are refined from a select blend of crudes using a multistage hydrogenation process. This severe hydrotreating process offers the unique ability to produce naphthenic process oils that meet currently established performance standards as well as those to be developed in the future. Careful selection and blending of domestic crudes, step by step computer controlled refining and the ultra high pressure catalytic processes develop excellent product performance. The quality assurance practices that Calumet brings to bear on crude oil selection and subsequent refining processes assure consistent uniformity and product performance.

Calsol Process Oils are available in several series:

Calsol 5 Series: Non Staining/Low VGC Naphthenic Process Oils

Calsol 8 Series: High VGC Premium Naphthenic Process Oils

Calsol P9 Series: Highly Refined Paraffinic Process Oils

Specialty Calsols

Key Calsol Naphthenic Process Oil Characteristics:

1) Compatibility with synthetic elastomers and their additives. Compatibility increases with naphthenic content and this increases viscosity-gravity constant, aromatic levels and lowers aniline points.

2) Stability to color degradation and resistance to oxidation and aging requires that the level of polar or heterocyclic aromatics containing nitrogen, sulfur, and oxygen be kept to a minimum.
